Operation Christmas Child

icon_cover_occ1.gif This is such a great way to cheer up a little boy or girl at Christmas. Click Christmas. Imagine the little face on the boy who opens this box! I was too late last year  (well, just not organised) but this year I will be filling  four boxes and sending them off. I’d love to see the faces of the three girls and one little boy….

We’ve taken part in the Operation Christmas Child for a few years now.

I also do a similar thing whereby I wrap some new gifts up and I add a gift tag stating boy/girl and age range and I give them to the social services to pass on to poorer families and children in care. It’s heartbreaking. I cry all the way through the process, from buying the pressies, wrapping them, writing the gift tag out and then handing them over. If you do this, pay mind to teenage kids because we always tend to think of the little ones first and the teenagers are largely forgotten.

Be warned…when you’re filling those boxes, you will sob your heart out thinking of those children.
