Tackle It Tuesday

January 29, 2007

                        Tackle It Tuesday Meme

My laundry room is the pits! I have several areas in the house which need attention, but thought I should work on this one first. For the simple reason, I can’t open the door properly! It’s a very small room and needs to be kept clutter-free! Looks like a big job, but only took me half an hour!

Roast beef, mashed carrot & swede, roasted parsnips, roast potatoes and gravy

Macaroni cheese for the children, Chicken Kiev, baked potatoes and peas for us

Fry-up for all.

Mum’s Steak Canadienne teacakes (pics to follow)

Slightly based on this recipe!

Leftovers (I’m cleaning the fridge out!)

Beef Casserole

Making our own pizzas

I’ve never made macaroni cheese before (recipes welcome) so that will be a little challenge! The fry-up is just  a breakfast really. I have all the ingredients waiting to be used up. Mum’s Steak Canadienne teacakes!  Thin slices of beef grilled with onions on a toasted teacake (bread roll). I’m from a part of Lancashire, England where a bread roll is called a teacake.

Earthpal will be laughing at this!

Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt

January 28, 2007

My little boy’s silver piggy bank. He got this for his Christening over two years ago. All the children’s Christening presents are still in the boxes. We have silver spoons, photo frames, ‘First Tooth’ boxes and piggy boxes….

Smart Habits Saturday

January 27, 2007

On the agenda today, is to ‘train’ the children into keeping their bedrooms tidy! I’ve re-organised the girls into different rooms and hopefully, the girls will look after them. I’ve explained to them that every Saturday morning, I will check each room, and the winner of the best kept room will get 5 euro. The other two will also get a treat.

You may think 5 euro is a lot, but it’s well worth it for me not to have to tidy three bedrooms each day! I’d rather be doing something a little more rewarding!

Sweet Revenge

January 26, 2007

Be sure to read every word and look at picture below after.
To my darling husband,  Before you return from your overseas trip I just want to let you know about
the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the
driveway. Fortunately not too bad and I really didn’t get hurt, so please
don’t worry too much about me.
I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I
accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The
garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt
when it bumped into your car.
I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will
forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my

I am enclosing a picture for you.
I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.
P.S. Your girlfriend called.
Your loving wife.

Not for the faint-hearted!

I am getting a little behind in the bedroom cleaning/tidying department. All I can think of right now, is where do I start? No.3 has decided she wants to move into No.2’s old bedroom. So she moved all her clothes and toys in there. No.2 has also put all of No.4’s toys and my ironing on the floor. It’s like a bombsite.

(I’m off to take  pics, brb)

No.3’s ‘new’ bedroom

Just a little of my ironing…

No.2’s ‘new’ bedroom

 Shock! Horror!

No.1’s bedroom. I didn’t take ‘before’ pics, but believe me, this is the best transformation! She decided she wanted her top bunk brought down (must take the bars off!)

wfmwheader2.jpg As you may have guessed by now, my main New Years  Resolution was to de-clutter and organise my home.

How many books do you have? What do you do with them when you have finished with them? Are they in a cupboard? Under the bed never to be read again? Do you pass them on?

This is what I do with mine, please comment after you see the Bookcrossing site!

runningbook33.gif   Bookcrossing  is the perfect way to pass on the books you have read whether you enjoyed them or not. Take a good look, you may even want to join!
