It’s all about being organised!

March 31, 2007

Housework needs to be organised, planned out. A routine is so important to keep a  house in order.

What am I talking about? I’ve no idea how to keep a house in order!

This is my problem. So, a text  from God  Ava came on Thursday evening, asking did I want her to come and clean for two hours on Friday morning! I accidentally texted,  “Yes, please”…..

Friday morning came and I tidied up before she arrived. I know, it’s stupid! But, when you know someone is coming to clean your home, you aren’t going to let them see it messy, are you?

I made all beds in record time, lifted all the clothes up off the girls’ bedroom floors and folded towels in the bathrooms. The kitchen was spotless from the night before and the dishwasher was on. I’d put a load of washing on and dried laundry was folded and put away to be ironed on Marathon Monday (another post, there!)

Ava is a Polish lady with grown up children. She loves to clean (more than I do) so I let her…

H20

March 30, 2007

I’m supposed to be drinking 8 glasses of water a day, not easy when it tastes of NOTHING!

I recently posted about the struggle I’m having about downing so much  of the boring fluid, that I was given some great advice. The best advice was so simple “Add a drop of lemon juice!”

It works, I drink!……

Time for the washing-line

March 30, 2007

I love using the washing-line, it’s a sure sign of better weather. There’s something very uplifting about seeing whites on a line blowing in the wind.  I bought large wooden clothes pegs yesterday, now all I need to do is dig through the clutter in the shed and find the line!

Housework will wait…

March 29, 2007

I’m getting fed up with housework, so it’s time to get outside and enjoy the better weather! My front garden has been sitting half done for six weeks, still with a garden trowel sticking in the soil from where I left off. The girls have a half day tommorrow before their two week Easter holidays 😯 I hope the weather stays fine so they can play outside all day and leave me to get on with it. The back garden needs lots of work. The decking has to be re-stained and I’d love to put up some trellis on the back fencing to grow more climbers, maybe honeysuckle and more clematis.

Traffic chaos

March 27, 2007

It’s been a sad day here in Kildare, Ireland. The fog this morning caused serious problems on the nearby dual carriageway leading from here to Dublin. One lady is critically injured and others seriously injured when many accidents occured within a matter of minutes of each other.

We passed a terrible scene on the way home from school whereby a car was completely flattened by an overturned cement-mixer.

RTE news had the whole story…

Tackle it Tuesday

March 26, 2007

                                         Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Slowly but surely does the trick! I’m getting more organised and back into the swing of mudane household chores. Following last weeks tackle, Marcia suggested this…

‘Eat the frog this week’. I’m not sure what it means exactly, but each day I add a few things I need to do and tick them off when they’re done. It’s working. I even did extra jobs on top of those listed…

Back here for more Tackles

p.s. This post would look much better if I could work out how to wrap the picture. So much white space. I tried to post this with Flickr but my account expired when I deleted my original blog 😦

Any ideas folks? Particularly if you are with WordPress…
