Reading time

I really need to read more books. As it’s the……………..

…….I thought now would be a good time to start. I recently read ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and hope the film is better. I was engrossed for the first few chapters, but then it became tedious. The same ‘ole, same ‘ole. But a nice little ending. Probably will rent it this week, anyway.

What’s your favourite book ever? Mine is ‘Cobwebs and Cream Teas’. It just reminds me so much of when myself and Hubs were preparing to open a Country House Hotel in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a book I will hold onto forever. I’ve read it three or four times now and each time is just as good.

I used to read a lot of autobiographies, the best being Liza Minnelli. She had an odd life, but I’ll leave you to read about that. I saw her in concert in Paris in 1991 with Charles Aznavour. She was just brilliant, as for Charlie, I fell asleep!

I’m reading this at the moment, and have been for a while, on and off. I can’t get into it. I really need a few hours to myself, to lay on the couch in peace and really get into it. I bought the book in a book-sale at the Parish Centre, it  was recommended to me, and has been read by two of my friends, so I’d love to read it and tell them I eventually got it finished!
