Spaghetti Sausage Pie

The girls enjoyed this last night, and Chef was impressed, too. I didn’t use the same ingredients as shown on the website, so here’s my version…
.
  •  4 ounces uncooked spaghetti
  • 1/2 pound pork sausage
  • a jar Dolmio sauce with garlic
  • 1 cup mozzarella
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

.

Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a small nonstick pan, saute sausage for 3-4 minutes or until browned; stir in spaghetti sauce

In a small bowl, combine mozzarella cheese and 1 egg white; set aside.

Drain spaghetti; add Parmesan cheese and remaining egg whites.

Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-in. deep-dish pie plate coated with cooking spray.

Spoon mozzarella mixture into crust.

Top with sausage mixture

Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted and filling is heated through.

Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

(Serves four hungry ankle-biters and a greedy Chef who’s already had a plateful of curry!)

That looks really delicious. I’m not that keen on sausages but my hubby is so I know he would like this!

Same here, I do not like sausage but my husband does. I can make this for him (a smaller size) when my daughter and I have fish (which he hates). Thanks for the recipe idea!
