Witty Wednesday

April 30, 2008
A prisoner in jail receives a letter from his wife:
.
“Dear Husband, I have decided to plant some lettuce in the back garden. When is the best time to plant them?”The prisoner, knowing that the prison guards read all mail, replied in a letter: “Dear Wife, whatever you do, do not touch the back garden. That is where I hid all the money.”

A week or so later, he received another letter from his wife: “

Dear Husband, You wouldn’t believe what happened, some men came with shovels to the house, and dug up all the back garden.”

The prisoner wrote another letter back:

“Dear wife, now is the best time to plant the lettuce.”

Viva España

I’m off to Barcelona with the girls this weekend for a Hen Party. I really didn’t want to go initially, but now I’m looking forward to the rest  break! Not sure what the weather will be like at this time of the year, so I’m a bit unsure what to pack.

Has anyone out there been to Barcelona in April?

Motivation Monday

April 28, 2008

The jobhunting was a success. I start at a brand new Montessori School in September AND a part-time Classroom Assistant course in Sept, too!  (More in my next post!)

Here are this weeks motivationals…

  • Go to bed before 11pm Sun-Thurs
  • Have no ironing to do by Friday
  • Visit friend who had a baby last week and do her housework
  • Replace toilet seats
  • Finish last weeks Monday Motivation List!

Motivation Monday

I’ve been tagged by the lovely Autumn Rose

Well, it’s strange that she should tag me on her Monday Motivation Meme, because that’s exactly what I’ve been looking for recently, motivation! I hardly blog any more. I’ve been jobhunting. (That’s for my next post) I know it’s Friday, but just had to do it right now. I’ll be joining in on Monday, too!

The rules of the game are simple enough…just list 5 things you wish to achieve during the week ahead and hopefully get motivated!

  • Sort out the hot press (airing cupboard) It’s bulging! There are so many clothes in there we don’t wear. I’ll give them to charity.
  • There are things which need to go down to the dump. Take it!
  • Finish the front garden on the next warm day.
  • Get a carpenter to put the door back onto the integral dishwasher. It’s been leaning against the wall for two months.
  • Book an appointment with a chiropodist before Hen Party in Barcelona!

Thanks Autumn Rose! I’m feeling better already! 😆

I tag Earthpal Michelle  Babybull  Bindi  Mrs Schmitty Beccy and Chrisb

.
Jo is our host this week and she came up with a really good assignment. This is what she says………
.
‘I want to know about your first ‘celebrity’ crush. You know, the one you fancied from that band, or that film, or who read the news, or who won Gold at the Olympics.

Did you have their pictures on your wall or in your locker?

Did you dress like them, style or colour your hair like them, follow them, meet them, marry them? (It could happen.)

Photos of THEM would be good, photos of YOU at the time you liked them would be even better.

Also, if you have time, I’d like to know whether they had any influence over your life, the person you became, or if they were just an embarrassing blip you would kind of rather forget about’.

Remember Lesley Crowther?

I know, weird, huh? I remember thinking he had the lovliest face I’d ever seen (apart from my very pretty Mum) I loved his smile and the fact he was tall and looked so much more handsome than the little squirt he worked alongside…

I have a l-o-n-g list of blokes I had a crush on when I was in my teens, but at 7 years of age, Leslie did it for me!
