My Book Club…

…was a flop.

 I’d had the Residents meeting just before and asked a few of them to stay on. No-one stayed, but a friend arrived (heavily pregnant and nothing to talk about but  false alarms) I gave her the chosen book for this month and she tossed it into her bag without so much as a quick flick-through. I’m hoping to get a few others to join or it’s just me n’ er and I’m not sure I can cope with going through her pre-natal notes for the next few weeks!

    After trying fresh meatballs on our recent trip to Las Vegas, how could I not come home and make my own?

     

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1 cup parmesan cheese
    • 1lb lean minced beef
    • mixed herbs
    • garlic
    • 1/2 cup water
    • salt and pepper to taste

    For the sauce

    • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
    • small tin tomato paste
    • garlic
    • 1/2 chopped onion
    • 1 tsp oregano
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Directions 

    1. Mix ingredients together, slowly adding the water
    2. Mould the mixture into meatballs
    3. Brown the balls on each side and simmer in the sauce for 20 minutes
    4. Add to pasta (I used fresh penne)
    5. Top with parmesan

    0312980345 - Second Thyme AroundI recently had three books on the go, and decided to put two away and concentrate on just one. I like to read outside the school when the boys are asleep and I have twenty minutes to read a chapter, hopefully, without a knock on the window from another Mum! That really annoys me, my attention span is tiny at the best of times. I’m only on chapter three and I’m loving it…

    I’ve recently joined a bookcrossing group. Click  BOOK. What a good idea and an ideal way to pass your books on instead of having them collecting dust. I’ve dug up a few books to ‘leave in the wild’…
